چکیده

Abstract Background In dermatomyostis (DM) patients, inflammation, reduced activity, and medication have a negative impact on the musculoskeletal system. Several endocrine factors are involved in muscle growth bone turnover. Objective: We aimed to investigate regulating myogenesis metabolism evaluate possible associations between these factors, strength, functional tests DM patients. Methods conducted cross-sectional study 20 dermatomyositis Serum levels of myostatin (MSTN), follistatin (FSTN), dickkopf 1 (Dkk1), sclerostin (SOST), periostin (PSTN), receptor activator nuclear factor kB ligand (RANKL):osteoprotegerin (OPG) ratio fibroblast 23 (FGF23) were determined. Physical function was evaluated by hand-held strength measurement, chair rising test, timed up go test 3-min walking test. Results MSTN FGF23 (2.5 [1.9; 3.2] vs. 1.9 [1.6; 2.3] 2.17 [1.45; 3.26] 1.28 [0.79; 1.96], respectively; p < 0.05) significantly higher patients than controls. Dkk1 lower (11.4 [6.9; 20.0] 31.8 [14.3; 50.6], 0.01). Muscle physical correlated with each other (e.g. hip flexion – test: r = ? 0.748, Conclusion biochemical musculo-skeletal markers altered shows deficits. All reflect independent different deficits long-term which is important for assessment as well planning therapeutic interventions clinical routine.

Regulation of Bone Metabolism

Bone is formed through the processes of endochondral and intramembranous ossification. In endochondral ossification primary mesenchymal cells differentiate to chondrocytes and then are progressively substituted by bone, while in intramembranous ossification mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) differentiate directly into osteoblasts to form bone. The steps of osteogenic proliferation, differentiation,...
